A word from our Founder

My name is Cait and my two passions are true crime and immersive, imaginative storytelling. When I started  writing murder mysteries, it was always my aim to blend the two elements together.

When tasked with writing a screenplay during my English Literature degree, I immediately chose to craft a whodunnit with a mysterious detective, eccentric suspects and scandalous secrets. It was so enjoyable to write.

In late 2020, seeking a distraction from writing my dissertation, I decided to spend an afternoon creating a murder mystery game for my housemates. Based on all the political machinations that were being leaked to the press every day during the second UK lockdown, it was as shocking and outrageous as you might imagine. Taking only a few hours to write, it was by no means polished, but an incredibly fun way to spend an afternoon (procrastinating my actual uni work).

Fast forward two years, I graduated uni but was struggling to find a career I really resonated with. I knew I wanted a creative job, but felt that in many of my roles thus far I lacked the freedom or control to be able to flourish. I enjoyed being able to flex my creative muscles across the marketing sector, but was itching to hone my storytelling skills in a more long-form style. Inspired by the murder mystery I created during lockdown for my friends, I put pen to paper and started writing our Diamond Princess game.

I love writing immersive games with complex and atmospheric settings. Both consciously and subconsciously, I bring elements of real life mysteries into these games - the truth is often stranger than fiction.
